I recognize that language is for communication purposes, however there are better ways to communicate one's thoughts and feelings. I am guilty of using slang myself on occasion, however I am simply stating that terms like 'winningest' should not be so common. I am upset about this because after I saw an article using the "word", I heard a newscaster, a supposedly intelligent person, repeat this headline on the air. Why are we as a society so afraid of using more than one word to convey an idea. Why is it that saying 'winningest' is suddenly more acceptable than saying, 'Phelps has won the most gold medals'?
hehehe, you're so fun to poke at. I think the simlpest way to say it is, it may be a word but it is not proper grammer(english). I'm glad I could inspire a mad frenzy of dictionary.com links. p.s. how ya doing? the joe thing is still weird. Been reading pukes blog, helping.
Oh how I remember this conversation.... "Irregardless of the fact that-" "Don't use that word." "Why?" "It's a double-negative." "Well, yeah..." "I hate that word." "Hmm....good point...."
